Elwiro Michał Andriolli was a versatile artist. Apart from illustration, which was the mainstream and appreciated part of his oeuvre, he also engaged painting. He painted mainly portraits and paintings for churches, including icons for orthodox churches.

His another achievement was the creation of a new style in architecture, which the Polish poet Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński (1905-1953) later facetiously named Świdermajer. This happened after 1880, when Andriolli moved to the area of today’s Otwock, where on both banks of the river Swider he built wooden, richly decorated houses according to his own design. In addition to his own home, a dozen or so others were for rent for the so-called. summer holidaymakers.
